Description of Work

Salary Range - 34270.00 - 59973.00
The Maintenance/Construction Technician III requires specialization in two or more technical trades in connection with maintenance of facilities related equipment and machinery.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Position functions at the journey level in multiple skilled trades such as electrical plumbing masonry heating and air or similar specializations. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Completing complex work assignments which require planning and/or coordinating multiple trade disciplines.
  • Working assigned tasks independently and referring very technical or unusual working problems to a supervisor for consideration.
  • Supervising offender workers engaged in semiskilled unskilled or of skilled maintenance assignments.
  • Ensuring compliance with work orders.
  • Maintaining equipment in proper working condition.


Minimum Education and Experience

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one (1) year of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I II III or Universal technician as required by Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Part 82 Subpart F.
