About Outpatient Clinics
Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.
Scope of work
Under the mentorship of a registered polysomnographic technologist the polysomnographic tech student provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders and performs diagnostic sleep testing including but not limited to order interpretation medication administration patient hook-up and monitoring BLS responsibility continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration oxygen administration and other related duties.
Qualifications
Required High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Associates Degree
Preferred Currently enrolled in or have completed the A-STEP or STAR designated online Self Study Modules or in preparation for certification exam OR completed ASETEP didactic education program OR in a formal polysomnography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) program with the polysomnography option.
Familiar with the field of sleep medicine with progressive completion of an A-STEP or with CAAHEP program Preferred
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
CRT-Polysomnographic Technologist - BRPT Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists 1 Year required or CRT-Respiratory Therapist Certification - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care 1 Year required
