Position Summary
LMM is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach courses in ServSafe and Restaurant Ready. The Adjunct Instructor is an integral part of LMMs Workforce Development Vocational Education training for students in the certificate program in Culinary Arts. The Adjunct Instructor promotes culinary industry standards and professionalism and relates professional/life/industry experience to learning by the continuation of professional/technical skills development the introduction of industry perspective into courses and the active awareness of professional/industry trends and opportunities
Some of the duties include:
- Design and deliver classroom and lab instruction through the development of instructional plans to meet course competencies and support lesson objectives; delivers instruction as approved
- Maintain accurate records of student progress submit grades attendance and other reports on time
- Enforces school academic attendance and other policies
- Maintain open lines of communication with Program Manager other faculty and staff and case managers to help track student progress
- Maintain a current knowledge of teaching discipline/field of study
- Provide competency-based education which aligns with organizational model of curricula as well as supports the system delivery
- Attend required functions including staff meetings in-service training graduation and special activities
- Adhere to and uphold all established operational policies and procedures of the program and organization
- Ensure compliance of all local state and federal regulations relative to cleanliness food preparation and the serving of food
- Participate in instruction at the Grafton Correctional Facility
- Follow HACCP and ServSafe guidelines and procedures
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate possesses an Associates degree from an accredited college or university. Bachelors degree in education workforce development social work or related field preferred. ServSafe certification preferred. Prior experience working with high-barrier populations (e.g. individuals living in poverty experiencing homelessness criminal justice system involved) a plus. Must be able to pass a PREA background check by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.
