The Data Engineering practice at Gore Mutual Insurance is going through an exciting transformation to modernize technologies and approaches and to better enable a data driven future for the company.

The Associate Data Engineeris responsible forsupporting the building andmaintainingof datapipelines datamodellingand data integrity/validation. The role will also support several exciting ongoing data migration acquisition and development projects aligning with our new strategic data priorities.

What will you do in this role:

Support the design development and documentation ofdata pipelines and data storage systems
Support the Maintenance of Data Systems and Platforms
Collect andanalyzerequirements and develop data processes and applications that satisfy them
Identifynew opportunities for data acquisition and help withutilizationof new data asset
Supportinternalbusinessclients such as Data Scientists and Visualization Specialists with their various data needs in collaboration with other Data Engineering team members

What skills you need to be successful:

A graduate degree in a technical field with specialization in Analytics Data Science or a related subject
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Excellent understanding of Object Oriented and Functional programming paradigms.
Experience developing Extract-Transform-Load processes using Spark.
Experience working with andanalyzingstructured semi-structured and unstructured datasets.
Knowledge of data modelling approaches and best practices
Familiarity with the Azure platform; knowledge of core data services such as Data Factory Event Hubs Databricks Data Warehouse etc

Nice to Have:

Azure certification
Experience with large scale data migration projects.

The expected base salary range for this position is $51450.00 - $ 101450.00. Depending on your relevant experience skills qualifications market conditions and business needs base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutuals discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
