The Division of Occupational Health Services(OHS)atMelroseWakefieldHospital is seekingafull-timeNurse PractitionerManager-Occupational Healthto join ourOHS team at our location in Medford MA.This is a leadership opportunity with supervisory responsibilitiesmanaging a staff of fournursing professionals.The schedule for this role is 5 days per week (Mon-Fri) from 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM with no weekends holidaysor call.Previousleadershipexperience working in an OHS hospitalsettingor occupational medicine clinicis highly desired.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing care for pre-employment screening work related injuries and exposuresfollow-upand referral; fitness for duty and periodic employee healthevaluations

• As an expert professional the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner is responsible and accountable for the application of the nursing process supervision of clinical practice research involvementwhen applicable consultative services inter and intradepartmental liaison educationleadershipand patient care management across the health care continuum.

• Provides direct care counseling and teaching toemployeesandother workforce membersaccording toestablishedcollaborative protocols and standards of care

• Promotes andmaintainsthe health and safety of individuals in theworkplace

• Plays a critical role in preventing work-relatedinjuriesand illness ensuring compliance withoccupationalhealthstate and federalregulations and providing comprehensivehealthcareservices toemployees

• Conducts assessments of employees health and fitness for specific job roles

• Conducts assessmentsfor suspected impairment and reasonable suspicioncases

• Provides health screenings and administersvaccinations

• Manages health surveillance programs toidentifypotential workplace healthhazards

• Offers education on injury prevention ergonomicpracticesand healthpromotion

• Provides initial medical care andfacilitatesreferrals for workers compensationcases

• Demonstrates awareness of community resources andassistsstaff patients and families to effectivelyutilizethem
  

• Oversees group of five nursing professionalswith approximately 40% of time spent in providing clinical care and 60% of time with administrativemanagerial and policy settingactivities

Who you are:

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with authorization by the Board of Registration in Nursing to practice in an expandedrole

• Registered with the ANCC or other accrediting organization for Nurse Practitioners

• Registered with the State of Massachusetts and DEA for prescription writingprivileges

• Current BLS and ACLS Certification

• A minimumof three years of current clinical nursing experiencein Occupational Healthand/orAdultMedicine is preferred.Experience in Urgent CareorEmergencyMedicine would behelpful

• Previousexperience in a supervisory role
