CIMA is a well-established multidisciplinary company operating on the Canadian national market. We are currently carrying out several projects related to mobility and public transportation systems including both urban bus transit and rail transportation.
The selected candidate will play a role in the design of the electrotechnical components of operational and mobility solutions including Operations Support and Passenger Information Systems (SAEIV). The desired profile must demonstrate expertise in onboard equipment and systems commonly used in buses or trains including: onboard computers vehicle routers wireless telecommunications vehicle geolocation systems driver consoles passenger information displays public address systems automatic passenger counters and related equipment.
With excellent communication skills both written and verbal the candidate will act as a representative of CIMA and will work closely with clients to ensure they are served effectively and professionally. Self-motivated and proactive the candidate demonstrates strong organizational skills and excellent interpersonal abilities and stands out for their analytical mindset and attention to detail enabling them to effectively manage the complexity of integrated systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineers and professionals on large-scale projects related to SAEIV and mobility systems;
- Support clients in the design and implementation of mobility systems
- Contribute to the production of system design deliverables including:
- Functional and technical specification documents
- Technical descriptions of onboard SAEIV equipment and cabling requirements
- Interface specifications with other systems for example: Fare collection systems Passenger information systems Wireless telecommunications Video surveillance systems;
- System layout and deployment diagrams
- Conduct field surveys to gain a thorough understanding of existing constraints prior to the implementation of the proposed systems
- Understand client needs analyze problems and translate them into technical solutions
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates
- Apply quality control procedures and ensure that drawings and deliverables meet project requirements in accordance with established practices and standards
- Monitor and oversee electrotechnical work related to the systems
- Coordinate electrotechnical work with other related engineering disciplines such as energy civil control and protection building engineering and architecture
- Monitor technological developments evaluate and recommend software and hardware solutions tailored to client needs
Qualifications :
- College diploma (DEC) with a specialization in electrotechnics or telecommunications. Any relevant profile will be considered
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in mobility system electrotechnics telecommunications or a closely related interdisciplinary field
- Experience or strong interest in consulting
- Experience with design software
- Relevant experience in software systems engineering and integration
- Experience in public transit and rail projects mobility and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
- Knowledge of relevant design standards and codes including the Quebec Electrical Code
- Possession of a valid construction site safety card (ASP)
- Fluency in both French and English is required for this position to ensure effective interaction with our diverse stakeholders clear communication and the successful delivery of projects at the national level
