Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Landican & Heswall

About the role:

We are pleased to advertise an internal opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the daytoday maintenance and presentation of Landican and Heswall Cemeteries.

You will play a vital role in maintaining safe dignified and wellpresented cemetery environments working sensitively alongside Bereavement Services and the wider community.

This role is ideal for someone with strong horticultural skills supervisory experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality sensitive services for our community.

About the Candidate:

We would like to hear from you if you have knowledge of Cemetery management and experience of staff supervision and management.

As part of the grounds maintenance duties you will ideally have experience of a wide range of grounds maintenance machinery to include handheld equipment pedestrian mowers ride-on mowers and in the use of grave-digging equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support Grounds Maintenance Operatives including assisting in Grave Digging operations when required. Ensure high standards of grounds care and site presentation.
Manage performance training daily work programmes and site monitoring.
Uphold Health & Safety PPE requirements and corporate policies.
City & Guilds Phase 2 (or equivalent) in horticulture/grounds maintenance or relevant experience.
A full driving licence is required to carry out this role.

Some evening/weekend work may be required.

Ability to travel across the Borough is essential.
