You will be part of a team responsible for building out the newest eBay experience -- live shopping platform: eBay Live. Live shopping naturally fits into the eBay ethos -- focused largely on unique items collectibles and fashion and enabling direct communication between buyers and sellers. This is a relatively new trend in the US and Europe growing quickly and is already broadly established in APAC.

We are looking to hire a passionate collaborative and motivated Android Software Engineer who will help us develop and evolve eBay Live to be a market leader in live shopping and become a key part of the global eBay platform.

What youll do and learn:

• Independently lead sophisticated technical initiatives for the entire organization and across domains

• Drive technical direction and roadmap leads across domain teams and guides others towards the right technical decisions.

• Authors ADRs (Architecture Decision Records) that serves as blueprint or a proposed solution for a given technical problem and influences overall tech strategy

• Responsible for one or more large functional areas possessing in-depth knowledge and expertise.

• Demonstrate strong systems mentality go beyond immediate needs proactively addressing performance security and future-proofing solutions.

• Take ownership of complex projects driving them from conception to successful implementation.

• Change agency to set high bar and uplevel across teams on culture process and engineering practices. Empower teams through effective collaboration knowledge sharing and tool building.

• 10 years professional experience in native mobile development

• Translate requirements to software design and create clean efficient extensible maintainable code.

• Responsible for multiple large functional areas possessing in-depth knowledge and expertise.

• Act as a technical authority and multiplier across domain and platform teams shaping technical direction setting standards and guiding long-term architectural decisions in cross-team contexts.

• Improves team productivity by identifying and voicing support for opportunities for productivity improvements.
