The Vet Office is recruiting an Experienced Veterinary Surgeon on behalf of a well-established and progressive small animal clinic based in County Kildare.
This opportunity is ideal for a confident motivated veterinary surgeon with a strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery looking to join a collaborative team of skilled vets and nurses in a supportive well-run practice.
The Role
The successful candidate will take on a key clinical role within the practice contributing to the delivery of high-quality veterinary care excellent client service and strong team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care

Diagnose treat and manage medical and surgical cases to a high clinical standard

Investigate and manage cases in-house where appropriate referring when necessary
-
Take full responsibility for patient care including effective case handovers
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
-
Prescribe and dispense medications safely and appropriately
Client Communication
-
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients regarding diagnostics treatment options and estimates
-
Support informed decision-making with empathy and transparency
-
Contribute to a consistently high standard of client experience
Team & Practice Contribution
-
Work collaboratively with vets nurses and support staff
-
Provide clinical guidance and support to colleagues where appropriate
-
Assist in the efficient day-to-day running of the clinic
-
Contribute to maintaining high standards of organisation presentation and professionalism
Compliance & Professional Standards
-
Maintain active registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)
-
Adhere to the VCI Guide to Professional Conduct
-
Keep CPD up to date and engage in ongoing professional development
Administrative Duties
-
Complete referral letters and laboratory documentation
-
Prepare pet passports and vaccination records
-
Complete insurance and related clinical paperwork when required
Candidate Requirements
Essential
-
MVB / DVM or equivalent qualification
-
Current registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI)
-
Minimum 3 years experience in small animal practice
-
Solid experience in surgery appropriate to level

Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills

Surgical confidence appropriate to experience level
