A supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Gravesend is seeking a skilled and motivated Intervention Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis starting as soon as possible. This role is focused on delivering targeted academic support to pupils who require additional intervention to close gaps in learning and make sustained progress.
This is not a general classroom teaching role. The Intervention Teacher will work with small groups and individual pupils across the school delivering focused purposeful sessions designed to support progress in core areas such as reading writing and mathematics. The role is central to the schools commitment to inclusion and high achievement for all pupils.
The school has a clear structure in place for intervention work with strong collaboration between class teachers senior leaders and support staff. Interventions are purposeful monitored closely and adapted based on pupil progress. You will have time to focus on planning delivering and evaluating interventions rather than juggling full-class responsibilities.
Key elements of the role include:
Delivering targeted intervention sessions to small groups or individual pupils
Supporting pupils who are working below age-related expectations
Focusing on core subjects particularly literacy and numeracy
Adapting teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
Tracking progress and feeding back to class teachers and leaders
Supporting pupils confidence engagement and learning behaviours
Working closely with SEN staff where interventions overlap with additional needs
This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working intensively with pupils and seeing the impact of focused teaching over time. You will need to be patient adaptable and skilled at breaking learning down into manageable steps while maintaining high expectations.
