Inspire Learning in Key Stage 2

Our school in Reading is seeking a motivated enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join our supportive team as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach a dynamic class of upper Key Stage 2 pupils helping them build confidence resilience and strong academic foundations as they approach the final years of primary school.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality lessons across the curriculum ensuring all pupils are challenged and supported to reach their full potential. We are looking for a teacher who combines strong subject knowledge with creativity and flexibility inspiring pupils to develop a love of learning that goes beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

• Assessing pupil progress regularly and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

• Maintaining a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

• Supporting pupils social emotional and personal development

• Working collaboratively with colleagues teaching assistants and school leaders

• Communicating effectively with parents and carers about pupils progress and achievements

• Participating in staff meetings CPD and school-wide initiatives

You will play a pivotal role in preparing pupils for the transition into Year 6 while fostering independence resilience and enthusiasm for learning.

Who Were Looking For

We are seeking a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Has experience teaching upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5

• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge in literacy numeracy and wider curriculum areas

• Can differentiate effectively to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and higher-attaining learners

• Is organised adaptable and reflective in their practice

• Works collaboratively within a professional and supportive team

• Is committed to safeguarding inclusion and the wellbeing of all pupils

Early Career Teachers with a passion for upper Key Stage 2 teaching are encouraged to apply. Support and mentoring will be provided to ensure success in the role.
