We are looking for a passionate creative and dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join our vibrant primary school in Guildford starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach a pivotal year group helping children consolidate their learning from Key Stage 1 while preparing them for the next stage of their education.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across all areas of the curriculum ensuring that all pupils are supported and challenged to achieve their potential. You will play a key role in nurturing pupils academic social and emotional development fostering independence confidence and curiosity.

Role Responsibilities

• Plan prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 2 pupils

• Assess and monitor pupils progress regularly adapting teaching to meet individual needs

• Create a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages engagement and curiosity

• Promote positive behaviour routines and independence

• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders to ensure consistency and high expectations

• Communicate effectively with parents and carers sharing progress and achievements

• Participate in staff meetings professional development and school-wide initiatives

• Support pupils transition from Year 2 to Key Stage 2

Who Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

• A qualified teacher with QTS

• Experienced in teaching Year 2 or Key Stage 1 with strong knowledge of literacy numeracy and the wider curriculum

• Confident in differentiating learning to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and higher-attaining learners

• Creative reflective and able to plan engaging lessons that inspire curiosity

• Collaborative and able to contribute positively to the staff team

• Committed to safeguarding inclusion and promoting pupil wellbeing

• Enthusiastic about fostering resilience independence and confidence in children
