Lead Learning in Upper Key Stage 2
We are seeking a motivated enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teacher to join our primary school in Northampton starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to teach upper Key Stage 2 pupils supporting their academic and personal development as they prepare for the transition into Year 6 and beyond.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum providing challenge and support to meet the needs of all learners. You will play a key role in developing pupils literacy numeracy and wider skills fostering independence confidence and a love of learning. Our school prides itself on creating an inclusive and stimulating environment where all children feel valued and supported.
Collaboration and professional development are central to the schools ethos. You will work closely with colleagues in Key Stage 2 sharing ideas and strategies to enhance teaching and learning while contributing to whole-school initiatives that ensure continuity progression and high expectations for every pupil.
Role Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess lessons across the Year 5 curriculum in line with the National Curriculum
Monitor pupil progress using assessment data to inform planning and target support
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and higher-attaining learners
Create a safe inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes engagement and curiosity
Support pupils social emotional and personal development
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants colleagues and senior leaders to maintain high standards and consistency
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and achievements
Participate in staff meetings CPD sessions and school-wide initiatives
Encourage pupils to develop independence resilience and confidence in their learning

Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching upper Key Stage 2 ideally Year 5
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in literacy numeracy and the wider curriculum
Be confident in differentiating lessons to meet the diverse needs of pupils
Have excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
Be collaborative reflective and committed to professional development
Show dedication to safeguarding inclusion and promoting pupils wellbeing
