The Opportunity
Situated in the heart of Camden this high-achieving secondary school treats Geography as a flagship subject enjoying one of the highest student uptake rates for GCSE and A-Level in the borough. You will join a department that views the urban landscape of North Londonfrom Kings Cross regeneration to the Regents Canalas a living classroom. This role is perfect for a Geography ECT who wants to blend traditional physical geography with cutting-edge urban social studies.
Role Details
Curriculum Innovation: Delivering a dynamic inquiry-based curriculum that covers global hazards sustainable urbanism and the geopolitics of climate change. You will have the autonomy to design specific modules for the KS3 Camden & The World project.
Fieldwork Leadership: Leading local fieldwork trips across North London and assisting the KS4 lead in coordinating the annual coastal study. The school provides a dedicated budget for ECTs to attend the Royal Geographical Societys CPD sessions.
GIS & Technology: Full access to ArcGIS and Digimap for Schools software. You will receive specialized training on integrating digital mapping into everyday classroom practice to enhance student spatial awareness.
Collaborative Planning: You will be part of a Humanities Planning Pod where resources for KS3 are co-created and shared allowing you to focus your PPA time on high-quality feedback and individual student intervention.
