The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant you will work closely with class teachers to support the learning and development of children aged 35. You will assist in delivering high-quality play-based learning experiences that build foundational skills in literacy numeracy communication and social-emotional development.
You will also support children who require additional help including those with SEN or EAL ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive. This role involves observing monitoring and recording childrens progress as well as contributing to classroom planning and delivering targeted interventions where needed.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting children in whole-class small-group and one-to-one settings
Assisting in the delivery of play-based and structured learning activities
Supporting childrens personal social and emotional development
Helping to prepare classroom resources and learning materials
Monitoring and recording childrens progress and sharing observations with teachers
Working with children with SEN or EAL supporting differentiated learning activities
Supporting classroom management and maintaining a safe inclusive learning environment
Assisting with school routines transitions and outdoor learning activities
Participating in staff meetings training and school initiatives
Supporting extracurricular activities trips and special events

Has experience supporting young children in a nursery or reception setting
Understands child development and early years pedagogy
Is patient nurturing and empathetic
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
Can support children with additional needs or EAL
Demonstrates creativity in supporting play-based learning
Shows flexibility and adaptability in a busy classroom
Builds positive relationships with children staff and parents
Is enthusiastic and passionate about early years education
