Provides selected data management and analysis activities for a variety of projects in support of the Department and/or Division.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and management of data storage using Access Excel and other relevant data management systems.

  • Using SAS and other relevant statistical software create analytic files by merging multiple large databases including Medicare and other complex claims-based data to meet the analysis goals.

  • Carry out and conduct statistical analyses of large and small databases using SAS SUDAAN and other related statistical software.

  • Create tables and figures that accurately reflect the results of the analysis

  • Serve as a resource and help answer programming questions for Divisions trainees (Research Fellows Research Students) and Research Staff at the discretion of the Principal Investigator.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required in Statistics Computer Science or Public Health; Masters degree preferred.

  • 1-3 years related work experience required.

  • Proficient in running SAS statistical analysis procedures required. Understanding of statistical concepts and SAS procedures; familiarity with epidemiological and quality assurance principles.

  • Prior research experience required.

  • Must be able to create analytic files by merging multiple large databases; formatting; recording; and sub setting data to meet the analysis goals. Must be able to create tables and figures that accurately reflect the results of the analysis.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents perform analysis and maintain databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with SUDAAN and STATA preferred.

Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff patients families and external customers.

Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts practices procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.

Teamwork: Ability to interact respectfully with other employees professional staff and/or external contacts to offer ideas identify issues obtain information or deliver services.

Customer Service: Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude and respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.


Physical Nature of the Job:
Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Some elements of the job are sedentary but the employee will be required to stand for periods of time or move throughout the hospital campus.

Pay Range:

$54080.00 USD - $99050.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors that may include seniority education training relevant experience relevant certifications geographyof work location job responsibilities or other applicable factors permissible by law.
