Job Description:

Test Engineer (47 Years)

Location: Pune Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days/week from Capco Office)

We are looking for a skilled Test Engineer with strong experience in Unix scripting SQL and Hive to support testing and validation activities across data-driven and enterprise applications. The role involves close collaboration with development data and business teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design execute and maintain test cases for functional system and regression testing.
• Perform backend and data validation using SQL and Hive queries.
• Develop and execute Unix shell scripts to support test automation data preparation and validation activities.
• Validate data pipelines ETL processes and batch jobs across multiple environments.
• Identify log track and retest defects; collaborate with development teams for resolution.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide testability feedback early in the SDLC.
• Prepare test reports metrics and test summary documentation.
• Ensure adherence to testing standards quality processes and delivery timelines.

Required Skills & Experience

• 57 years of experience in software testing / QA preferably in data-intensive or enterprise applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting.
• Proficiency in SQL for complex data validation and reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience with Hive for querying and validating large datasets.
• Experience in testing ETL batch processing or data warehouse applications.
• Good understanding of SDLC STLC and defect management processes.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA ALM Zephyr).
• Strong analytical skills attention to detail and effective communication.

Good to Have

• Exposure to automation tools or frameworks.
• Experience in Financial Services or large-scale enterprise systems.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and data quality frameworks.
