Description
The Multimedia Technician supports the Clay County Sheriffs Office Public Information Unit by creating and managing video photography and graphic design content across social media the website and public-facing initiatives. The role documents events ensures consistent branding monitors and communicates timely news and develops strategies to grow digital engagement. This position plays a key role in promoting transparency public education recruitment and community outreach.
Duties
- Develops produces edits and coordinates multimedia contentincluding video photography and graphic design for CCSO communications social media platforms the department website presentations and other public-facing initiatives.
- Conducts on-site photography and videography to document events such as press briefings awards ceremonies recruitment activities educational content special team demonstrations and community engagement events.
- Assists in monitoring and communicating news and content relevant to CCSO operations to ensure timely and accurate public information.
- Collaborates with department staff and leadership to align multimedia content with strategic goals and objectives.
- Maintains a strong understanding of multimedia trends digital engagement tools and content delivery platforms to ensure the CCSO stays current with industry standards.
- Ensures all visual and digital materials align with CCSO branding messaging and professional standards.
- Supports content creation for external communication including print web social media and public education campaigns.
- May assist with the development of presentations print materials signage and internal documentation.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed in support of the CCSO law enforcement and public information mission.
- Monitors social media following views likes comments etc. and develops strategic plan for platform growth.
- Processes incoming and outgoing documents and files in a timely accurate manner per agency policy.
- Engages in cross-training supports coworkers as needed and contributes to a team environment.
- Reports maintenance safety or compliance concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Completes all assignments special projects and budgetary responsibilities as directed and in compliance with applicable policies.
- Follows all attendance and leave policies including punctuality and proper notification of absences or overtime.
- Regularly checks and responds to mailbox phone calls PowerDMS and email communications in a timely and professional manner.
- Keeps chain of command informed of significant matters.
- Accepts supervision and constructive feedback in accordance with agency expectations.
- Conducts oneself in a courteous ethical and professional manner at all times in alignment with the agencys code of ethics.
- Fosters positive working relationships with team members and other agency units to enhance service delivery.
- Demonstrates cultural awareness and respect in all interactions with the public and coworkers.
- Actively participates in job-specific training and professional development.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
LICENCES EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates or bachelors degree in Multimedia Communications Digital Media or a related field OR a minimum of two (2) years of equivalent work experience in accordance with FSS 112.219.
- Plus an additional minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in video editing photography graphic design or multimedia production.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software (Adobe Premiere Pro After Effects Photoshop Lightroom Illustrator InDesign)
- Experience with website content management systems and social media platforms (Facebook Instagram YouTube etc.)
- Strong storytelling attention to detail and ability to translate complex ideas into visual media
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Valid Florida drivers license required; FAA Part 107 drone certification preferred
- Experience in government public safety law enforcement communications or local media environment a plus
- Familiarity with live streaming video captioning and accessibility standards
- Speak and understand the English language
- Internal candidates must have successfully completed their probationary period
- Internal candidates with punitive disciplinary action within 365 days are ineligible
- Internal candidates must have completed applicable CCSO FTEP requirements
- The following items (or authorized equivalents) may be required at various steps in the application process:

- Form DD214 for all periods served in the military
- GED or High School Diploma and Sealed Transcripts from the highest level of education
- FDLE Authority for Release (notarized)
Supplemental Information
Salary is negotiable for full-time positions prior to initial hire if requested based on verified experience up to step five (5) of the assigned pay grade. Current employee salary changes are determined based on internal methodology. Please contact Human Resources with any questions.
