Job Summary
Locum Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery
Join the dedicated team at UMH Sparrow Lansing Hospital a Level 1 Trauma Center located in the vibrant Lansing Michigan. We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner) to support our Cardiovascular Surgery team. This opportunity features a 4-day 10-hour workweek with a balanced on-call schedule of 1 in 4 weeks including one weekend shift per month. This is an ideal position for candidates looking to immerse themselves in a collaborative environment following the recent resignation of an APP.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide patient care and support for the cardiovascular surgery team.
- Manage daily patient rounds in the CVICU and vascular units.
- Handle a patient load averaging around 15 patients per day ensuring timely and accurate care delivery.
- Respond to on-call duties as scheduled and provide weekend coverage as required.
- Document patient interactions and clinical information using the Epic EMR system.
Qualifications
- Board Certified Advanced Practice Provider.
- Experience in cardiovascular surgery or related fields.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
License and Certification Requirements
- Active Michigan State Medical License (required at time of name clear).
- BLS & ACLS certifications (required).
- Clean malpractice and license history (highly preferred).
- NPDB self-query copy required (must be pulled within 30 days).
