Job Summary
Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Maintenance Mechanic for an on-going site in the West Jefferson NC area. This is a third shift position : 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform Daily PMs as scheduled for equipment at the site.
- Repair and maintain equipment in accordance with OEM specifications. This includes machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors ballscrews and PLCs for production equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and make repairs on variety of plant equipment and systems.
- Diagnose equipment failure and institute action to return equipment to normal operations.
- Knowledge of electrical controls and power distribution.
- Knowledge of compressed air HVAC and domestic water systems.
- Maintain records and logs as needed.
- Knowledge of safety standards and precautions for plant maintenance and repair work.
- Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
- Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
- Maintain a safe clean and organized working environment.
- Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
2-year degree in Electrical/Machine Technology or Similar Technology Degree plus 5 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician
Or 10 Plus years experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
Or a 2-year degree in Machine Technology or Similar Technology Degree will be considered as an entry level position.
Physical Demands
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time bending consistently working on ladders and in awkward body positions
- Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
- Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position.
- Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools.
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time bending consistently working on ladders and in awkward body positions.
Work Environment
- Conditions including working in office shop busy traffic areas freezers and warehouses with frequent exposure to dirt dust grease oil vibrations and adverse weather conditions.
