Position Purpose:
Install service and maintain all refrigeration air conditioning ventilation and heating equipment in accordance with standard trade practices applicable codes and safety regulations. Responds to HVAC/Refrigeration calls on a continual basis. Work on complex problems that may involve a modification and partial redesign of an HVAC or refrigeration project.
What you will do:
Performs various duties to operate maintain and repair equipment to provide heating ventilation air conditioning and refrigeration.
Installs pipes fitting fixtures and controls for new installations of heating refrigeration air conditioning and ventilation equipment and systems.
Repair HVAC and Refrigeration Systems/Equipment.
Troubleshooting HVAC/Refrigeration equipment.
General responsibilities of HVAC/Refrigeration Mechanic.
Contributes to the productivity and efficient operation of the Engineering Department.
Contributes to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the hospital.
Contributes to the effective operation of the hospital by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus formal training in refrigeration heating and air conditioning. Training in electronic/electrical/pneumatic controls is required.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in installation and repair of refrigeration and HVAC system and operations including digital and pneumatic controls. Familiar with air balancing equipment and procedure.
State of Connecticut HVAC License is preferred.
Work requires the ability to resolve complex problems requiring the use of basic scientific mathematical or technical principles and in-depth experienced based knowledge.
Work requires the ability to understand and respond to simple written or verbal instructions.
Requires the ability to read and write English.
