What you can expect:

We are seeking an exceptional Sales Leader to join our Commercial Team to drive accelerated and sustainable growth across Mercer Irelands advisory and solutions portfolio including pension Advisory (defined benefit and defined contribution) master trust private wealth HR advisory and Mercer Marsh Benefits brokerage services.

This senior leadership role is responsible for setting and executing the sales strategy building a high-performing sales capability and deepening strategic relationships with key corporate institutional and public-sector clients. The Sales Leader will work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Leadership Team to position Mercer as the trusted advisor and solutions provider of choice.

The role:

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and implement an ambitious multi-year sales strategy aligned with Mercer Irelands growth objectives.
  • Identify and prioritize high-growth market segments cross-sell opportunities and strategic client relationships.
  • Drive new business acquisition across Defined Benefit Defined Contribution Master Trust Employee Benefits and Reward & HR Consulting.
  • Grow assets under management (AUM) for DC and Master Trust through new mandates and expansion of existing clients.
  • Deliver monthly and annual sales targets manage pipeline and regular reporting.
  • Achieve personal sales targets.

RFP & Bid Management

  • Maintain a high win rate on major bids.
  • Develop value propositions aligned with market needs.
  • Oversee approach to major bids including tender documents pitch materials pricing and team selection.
  • Collaborate with and coach relationship managers and subject matter experts to support bid delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with independent market consultants.
  • Ensure adoption of Mercer global best practices.

New Client Acquisition & Market Development

  • Lead prospecting initiatives targeting non-Mercer clients including a personal portfolio.
  • Partner with Marketing to align sales and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor emerging market trends regulatory changes and client needs to identify commercial opportunities.

Sales Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead coach and develop a high-performing sales and business development team.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture with strong discipline in pipeline management pricing and client value articulation.
  • Collaborate with practice leaders to align sales efforts with delivery capabilities and client outcomes.
  • Promote cross-practice and cross-Marsh Ireland collaboration to maximize client penetration and share of wallet.

Client & Market Leadership

  • Oversee a number of key client relationships as part of the Client Relationship Team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with pension trustees corporate sponsors CFOs HR Directors and investment committees.
  • Represent Mercer at industry events conferences and client forums.

What you will need to have:

  • Strong understanding of the Irish pensions and investment market including master trust familiarity.
  • Experience with broader employee benefits and rewards advantageous
  • Proven client-facing experience in professional services advisory consulting asset management or pensions/wealth environments.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and increasing market share.
  • Strategic commercially astute and growth/outcome focused.
  • Strong ethical compass and commitment to client-first outcomes.
