Data Integration Specialist – Data Modeling, API Documentation & Regulatory Compliance

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a highly experienced Data Systems Analyst & Data Integration Specialist to support enterprise data ecosystems in the banking and financial services domain. This role focuses on designing documenting and supporting data integration processes across external systems digital platforms and merchant ecosystems. Your expertise will ensure data accuracy security and compliance enabling effective risk management and analytics initiatives that support strategic business growth.

Software Requirements

Required:

• Extensive experience in data modeling source-to-target mapping and data contract management supporting data integration projects (7 years)

• Proficiency with API documentation tools especially Swagger/OpenAPI (latest versions)

• Strong understanding of error handling strategies exceptions and data quality management

• Data analysis skills supporting business decisions data validation and reconciliation

• Familiarity with SQL (basic to intermediate) and XML/JSON data formats

• Hands-on experience with data integration tools such as Informatica Talend or similar tools

Preferred:

• Knowledge of cloud data platforms (AWS Azure GCP) supporting data integration

• Experience with data governance frameworks compliance standards e.g. GDPR PCI DSS

Overall Responsibilities

• Gather analyze and document detailed business and technical requirements supporting data integration projects

• Design and maintain source-to-target data mappings data models and data contracts for seamless integration

• Support data migration validation and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrity and compliance

• Collaborate with stakeholders developers and QA teams to support end-to-end data system delivery

• Develop update and maintain API documentation and integration specifications using Swagger or similar tools

• Troubleshoot analyze and resolve data issues errors or discrepancies in production and test environments

• Support data governance initiatives and compliance with security and regulatory policies

• Automate data processes and document technical workflows supporting operational efficiency

• Continuously improve data workflows processes and documentation for operational excellence and audit readiness

Technical Skills (By Category)

Languages & Data Formats (Essential):

• SQL (MySQL Oracle SQL Server) supporting data validation and reconciliation

• XML and JSON supporting data exchange and integration

• Source-to-target mapping and data contract design support

Preferred:

• Scripting or automation languages such as Python or Shell scripting

Tools & Frameworks:

• Data integration tools: Informatica Talend or comparable platforms

• API documentation tools: Swagger/OpenAPI supporting detailed API schemas

• Data governance and metadata management frameworks

Cloud & Storage (Preferred):

• Cloud data platforms supporting integrations (AWS Azure GCP)

Standards & Compliance:

• Data security protocols encryption standards GDPR PCI DSS and other data privacy regulations

Experience Requirements

• 7 years supporting enterprise data systems integration processes and data migration projects

• Proven experience designing and documenting source-to-target data mappings and data contracts

• Experience with data validation reconciliation and metadata management in regulated environments

• Knowledge supporting financial services or banking data compliance and security standards

• Experience supporting data governance policies and regulatory audits

Day-to-Day Activities

• Gather and analyze data requirements from business stakeholders and documents

• Design and document source-to-target data mappings data models and data contracts

• Support data migration validation and reconciliation activities supporting analytics and regulatory compliance

• Collaborate with data engineers QA and business teams to ensure successful data integration projects

• Develop and update API schemas integration workflows and documentation for audit purposes

• Troubleshoot data discrepancies security issues and integration errors in live environments

• Support automation of data processes and document operational workflows

• Support data governance initiatives and compliance activities supporting regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Management Computer Science or related fields

• 7 years of experience supporting data integration data management and migration projects in enterprise environments

• Certifications in data management or relevant industry standards (preferred)

• Proven track record supporting regulated financial or banking data workflows security and compliance
