Night Leader Custodian

Falmouth High School

2nd Shift(2:30pm -11:00pm)

12 months per year -40 hours per week

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current employment as a custodian preferred.
  • Experience in performing and/or supervising electrical plumbing carpentry repairs and preventative plant maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability in providing leadership to other custodians as well as maintaining good rapport with public school officials staff and students.
  • Ability to operate a computer and related software.
  • Demonstrate quality work and exceptional work habits.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Principal Building Manager Director of Finance and Operations and Superintendent of Schools may deem appropriate and acceptable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Night Leader is responsible for supervising the second shift custodians assigning the daily duties in conjunction with the Building Manager serving in the capacity of working foreman and responding to building emergencies as needed. The Night Leader is expected to coordinate shift transitions with the Building Manager and perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Building Manager or Building Principal. The Night Leader also needs to fill in for the Building Manager when called upon to cover vacations sick days etc.

The Night Leader must work with outside groups as needed related to public functions in building and is responsible for setting up night meetings/school events or other functions and accompanying outside vendors during his shifts.

Specifically the Night Leader needs to direct and as necessary perform daily functions including but not limited to the following: move furniture sweep mop and dust floors; collect trash; wash windows glass doors and tables; wash strip and polish floors vacuum rugs carpets and drapes; check and inspect fire extinguishers; repair burned out/broken lamps; remove ice/snow from walks and steps. The position requires knowledge of heating and cooling systems and the ability to operate a computer and related software to control boiler/chiller the EMS systems and electrical switches control system when necessary. The Night Leader should train subordinates in the above as well. The Night Leader should respond and comply with special work requests: perform preventative maintenance/repair on damaged items daily and overhaul clean and repair equipment routinely.

SALARY: In accordance with the Custodian contract.
