Job Summary

The Livingston Enterprise is looking for an editor to run its newsroom.

Livingston Montana is a scenic mountain town of 8500 residents at the head of Paradise Valley with stunning views of local mountain ranges. Located along the Yellowstone River an hour north of Yellowstone National Park Livingston offers world-class fishing hiking and skiing right at your doorstep. The town features a vibrant historic downtown with local shops breweries and restaurants plus a thriving arts scene.

The editors focus will be growing and sustaining digital audience while continuing to serve loyal print subscribers.

In addition to digital updates to the website throughout the day newsletter sends social media engagement and breaking news push notifications there are two print editions and three E-editions (on the off-print days) produced each week.

Experience with digital platforms and social media strategy are important. The best candidates also will have a collaborative spirit and knowledge of total operation including audience/circulation sales and production.

Performance will be measured by subscriber growth engagement and retention as well as the impact our content has in the community audience reach and public service.

Essential skills and experience

Strong English language skills both written and verbal.

Interpersonal skills the ability to get along with and earn the respect of a wide variety of people at all levels of seniority.
Community engagement experience in person and on social networks being a professional ambassador for the news organization in the community.

Education

Bachelors degree preferred.
Preferred: Additional professional development training in areas such as social media analytics or project management.

Compensation/Benefits: This is a salaried position. The Livingston Enterprise is owned by Adams MultiMedia. AMM offers a choice of two medical plans with varying levels of employee cost-sharing and employee-paid Dental and Vision options. There are three (3) company-sponsored and paid benefits including Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability and a Term Life Insurance Policy. Associates become eligible to enroll in the benefit plans after 60 days of employment and then the beginning of a month.

AMM offers six paid holidays (Thanksgiving Christmas New Years Memorial Day Independence Day and Labor Day). Full-time Associates are eligible to accrue PTO at our normal accrual rate if full-time. PTO increases per company policy based on years of service.
