The Role
The successful candidate will work from the Dartmouth office with the Estimating team and report to the Director of Estimating.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing quantity take-offs based on preliminary and construction drawings
- Generating project staffing plans and general expense estimates
- Creating schedules based on room data sheets
- Participating in design meetings both in-town and out-of-town
- Holding meetings with subcontractors
- Conducting scope reviews and creating subcontractor tender packages
- Soliciting subcontractor and supplier information and pricing
- Analyzing design options and product alternates from both a capital expense and a Life Cycle cost perspective
- Preparing risk registries for projects
- Attending collaborative meetings and user group meetings with Owners and Consultants
- Reviewing design specifications for bid compliance
- Actively participating in the industry client and community relations to enhance company image
- Promoting and practicing company values in a creative innovative and enjoyable work environment
- Maintaining and fostering positive long-term relationships with all business partners including owners architects engineers and subcontractors
The Requirements
- 3 years of estimating experience and experience in ICI estimating
- A degree of diploma in Engineering Construction Management or an equivalent construction program
- Eligible for or having attained PQS CET or P. Eng designation
- Proficiency with On-Screen Take-Off SmartBid MS Project and Excel
