Job Focus Area
This Contracts Grants/Grants Reviewer position reports to an Education Program Consultant 5-A in the division of Grants Management. The Contract/Grants Reviewer manages funding awarded by the LDOE including federal and state funds. This position is responsible for supporting professional work of a technical varied and complex nature involving grants management specialized budget development/preparation review control monitoring and analysis and reporting relative to the sub-grantee assistance appropriation.

Minimum Qualifications
Four years of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus one year of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting; OR
A bachelors degree plus one year of experience in contracts or grants management procurement financial management or accounting; OR
An advanced degree in business or public administration finance economics or statistics.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Prepares develops and monitors routine contracts and/or grants agreements applications budgets amendments and sub-grant agreements in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements and departmental policies and procedures.
Reviews applications reports and records to ensure sub-grantee expenses proposed and actual -- are allowable the grant is on schedule and grant terms are met.
Assists in maintaining a central hub of grants information including information relative to the grants development cycle resources regarding the grant development process and any other pertinent deadlines applicable to grants awarded by the agency.
Works with administrators officials and other personnel to solve grants-related issues and facilitates coordination across offices.Preferred qualifications this includes specific experiences and/or skills that someone in this position would need to be successful that are above the minimum qualifications.
Maintains records prepares reports and/or correspondence relative to contracts and/or grants.
Conducts User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure newly developed applications are operating as intended and meet programmatic and compliance requirements.
Provide technical assistance to LDOE program staff as it pertains to grant application development and maintenance.
Provides ongoing technical assistance and consultation to LEAs sub-grantees agency personnel and other helpdesk users regarding grant applications and program issues.
Researches issues relative to grants management and inform and advise appropriate parties regarding relevant regulations guidelines and policies.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Job Appointment.Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment if selected.
Work Location:The person hired for this position is expected to report to the Baton Rouge office as requested.
Career Progression:This position participates in a Career Progression Group.As part of a Career Progression Group vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as an Contracts/Grants Reviewer 2 or 3 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant.
Work Schedule:Workdays are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The pay ranges for each level are as follows:

Hourly: $16.86 $33.08
Monthly: $2922.00 $5734.00
Annually: $35069.00 $68806.00
Contracts/Grants Reviewer 3 (AS-614)
Hourly: $19.30 $37.88
Monthly: $3345.00 $6566.00
Annually: $40144.00 $78790.00
