Practical Internship Finance Central Processing

The intern at the Accounts Payable department assists in multiple duties related to invoices payments and/or bank/cash activities and provides other related accounting support.

This is a great opportunity for a student who wants to develop his/her analytical and problem-solving skills while working under pressure of meeting deadlines. You will be part of the team and have contact with external vendors. Some tasks can be repetitive so you need a positive attitude towards routine or improving procedures.

Responsibilities:                             

• Assist in processing of bank statements daily.
• Assist in the monitoring of the accounts to ensure the payments are up to date and actively manage unallocated payments against invoices.
• Assist in the reconciliation of account payable transactions.
• Contribute towards the monthly reports and assist with the monthly closing.
• Prepare batches of the Vendor invoices for payment proposals.
• Assist in processing Cost and Oder invoices and ensure a proper filling of all hard-copy and digital data.
• Support the business in all invoices related queries and monitor the approval workflow of the vendor invoice.
• Assist with the reconciliation of the incoming statements of the vendors accounts (SOA) against the outstanding invoices in AX.

Qualifications

Your background:

• You are pursuing a n Associate Degree or HBO degree in Business Administration / Financial Accounting or related field; you have a basic understanding in accounting and financial processes such as accounts payable/receivable.
• Good command of MS Excel Word Outlook  and basic financial reporting;
• Willingness and ability to learn new systems and procedures;
• You are eager to learn practical and not afraid to roll up your sleeves;
• Strong communication skills in English.

• Your team: You are part of the specialized Central Processing team part of the finance department. The team consists of 6 colleagues and your supervisor is the finance manager.
• Full/part-time job: The internship is for 32-40 hours a week.
• Working conditions: We work from our beautiful campus in Papendrecht working partly from home is a possibility.
