What Youll Do

  • Conduct site reviews and inspections for building systems and BC Hydrotype projects.

  • Assist with electrical design: diagrams layouts specs and reports.

  • Perform calculations and analyses in compliance with codes and standards.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet scope budget and schedule.


Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering two (2) years of relevant experience with Power Systems focus from an accredited postsecondary institution.

  • Knowledge of electrical design and commissioning preferably including hydropower station electrical systems substation design and/or protection and control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years related industry and engineering design experience in a multidisciplinary electrical power and/or instrumentation & control environment (hydro experience preferred).

  • Registered Professional in Canada (EGBC preferred) as an EngineerinTraining (EIT) or eligibility to quickly obtain EGBC registration.

  • Exposure to Canadian Electrical Code IEEE NFPA NEMA and other recognized standards.

  • Experience producing tender documents: P&IDs singleline diagrams wiring diagrams load schedules cable/tray calculations instrumentation lists/spec sheets and electrical studies.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit MEP; MS Office Suite.

  • Strong analytical skills attention to detail and excellent English communication.

  • Exposure to utility design practices (BC Hydro) is a strong asset.
