GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Tigard-Tualatin School District seeks to hire a compassionate and dedicated professional who is committed to learning and developing culturally and community responsive psychological services to our families and students. TTSD strives to center the needs of our most marginalized students in our community.

This position works in cooperation with and under the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist in completing university program requirements to provide training that includes a comprehensive integrated experience that aligns with the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). School Psychologist Interns will build their knowledge in data based decision making and accountability collaboration and programming & interventions in both academic and social skills using an equity lens. Interns will have the opportunity to work within a multi tiered system of support. Under the supervision of a licensed School Psychologist interns will practice conducting comprehensive evaluations. They will also learn how to develop programs for students with social emotional needs including functional behavior assessments developing strategies to teach and respond to behavior train & coach staff and use data to evaluate effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Enrolled in an accredited Masters degree or higher School Psychologist program.
  2. Enrolled in an internship class with a University Program Advisor.
  3. Demonstrated successful course completion in cognitive behavioral and academic testing and related skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following:

The duties listed below are not inclusive but characteristic of the type and level of work assigned for this position. Under direct supervision of a licensed School Psychologist and depending upon the individual assignment the School Psychologist Intern may perform all or a combination of the following:

  1. Conduct individual evaluations in cognitive behavioral and academic areas as well as other areas that may be assigned.
  2. Work collaboratively with the assigned intern supervisor to provide comprehensive written reports of observations assessment results and recommendations within the standards established by the Special Student Services Department in collaboration with the Interns university program.
  3. Provides a variety of consultation and advice on issues such as behavior management social skills and a wide variety of other matters to assist students in improving behavior to benefit the childs education.
  4. Assists with/coordinates efforts for consistent behavior and environment for the child.
  5. Observe and participate in MTSS team meetings at all three levels: Tier I Tier II and Tier III.
  6. Maintain regular attendance at work. Be punctual in meeting deadlines attending meetings and following schedules.
  7. Maintains a variety of program records files and documents according to program standards and established guidelines.
  8. Practice within the code of ethics for school psychologists.
  9. Other Duties may be assigned.
