A vacancy will arise for a Flight Sergeant (A Eng Tech) to serve as SEMSCo A4 at RAF Brize Norton on Full Time Reserve Service (Home Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of being not before 30 September 2026 (or later subject to candidate status).
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Air Safety Management System (ASMS) Owner and nominated deputies through the Air Safety Manager for the effective monitoring operation and administration of the RAF Aviation Error Management System (AEMS) within RAF Brize Norton.
They will be required to:
- Act as focal point for information guidance and promotion of RAF AEMS policy and procedure.
- Manage Occurrence Safety Investigations.
- Ensure the content of all In-Form Reports received are analysed and all safety/non-safety information is identified and appropriate action instigated to provide effective and sustainable investigation/interventions.
- Provide support to LEMSCOs in the publicity and promotion of RAF AEMS.
- Regularly visit units/sections to communicate good practice give a visible presence and encourage participation in the RAF AEMS.
- Advise and guide the ASMS Owner nominated deputies ORG members and others on the application of the RAF Just Culture policy.
- Develop and monitor KPIs information and statistics to assist in the overall monitoring of the AEMS.
- Engage with the Air Safety Investigation Team and other SEMSCOs.
- Attend and support role related meetings.
- Line Manage the In-Form Manager and two ASC Occurrence Investigators.
