- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent or higher
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Minimum one year experience working with volunteers

Skills required for success:
- Strong organizational time management and strong customer service skills
- Highly developed and demonstrable verbal and written communication
- Knowledge of zoo animals and animal behaviour
- Comfortable working around small animals insects amphibians and reptiles

Conditions of employment:
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C is a requirement of this position
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

You will be directly involved at the Edmonton Valley Zoo for site animation or assisting with volunteer services.
What you will do:
Volunteer Support
- Assist with the recruitment onboarding training and orientation of new volunteers
- Support volunteer scheduling and shift coordination using the Better Impact system
- Serve as a point of contact for volunteer inquiries absences and shift changes; Support volunteer waivers and compliance requirements as needed
- Assist with tracking volunteer hours training completion evaluations reports and qualifications within the Better Impact system
- Provide on-site support for volunteer-led activities
- Support volunteers during high-volume or peak program periods
- Maintaining and monitoring program equipment supplies and resources for all volunteer programs and special events
- Ensures the overall safety of participants (LITs) and volunteers with adherence to program objectives
Special Event Support
- On site support for volunteers during EVZ special events and membership events
- Supporting the set up and take down of the on site special events volunteer green room
- Coordinating and managing volunteer supplies during special events
