The Opportunity
The Assistant Financial Accountant plays a key role in delivering high-quality financial accounting services to the University. Supporting the integrity of the General Ledger year-end processes and statutory reporting this role provides technical accounting expertise analysis and advice across the University. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen financial governance and support informed decision-making.
This position will be responsible for contributing to the Universitys core financial accounting functions including daily financial processing and University-wide month-end and year-end close activities. It will prepare month-end and year-end adjustments undertake financial analysis for periodic and statutory reporting and respond to internal and external audit requests. The role will assist with mandatory State and Federal Government reporting benchmarking surveys and the preparation of consolidated annual financial statements. Maintaining the integrity of SAP will be central through transaction review reconciliations variance analysis and balance sheet management working closely with Treasury as required. The position will also support financial accounting projects continuous improvement initiatives and build strong relationships with stakeholders to enable efficient high-quality service delivery.
