Job Summary

Description
Volunteers are vital in helping to ensure that our hospices run effectively. We are looking for volunteers to support with the day to day running of the hospice reception as well as providing a welcoming environment for our patients and their families.
Availability: Saturday or Sunday 10am - 2pm or 2pm - 6pm
Criteria: Minimum aged 18 years or older

What we need you to do

  • Warmly welcome and greet everyone entering the hospice ensuring security guidelines are followed
  • Receive deliveries and notify relevant staff
  • Handle telephone calls with a polite manner and relay messages
  • Escort visitors to areas within the hospice
  • Communicate patient arrivals to relevant staff
  • Assist with transport needs - booking taxis

  • Friendly reliable and positive attitude
  • Courteous and helpful manner
  • Comfortable engaging with people from all walks of life
  • Organised and self-motivated
  • Committed to delivering excellent service
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Respectful of confidentiality and boundaries
  • Willing to share information appropriately with your Volunteer Manager
