Production Worker - Braille

About the Role
The Braille Production Worker supports daily production operations by preparing processing and assembling braille materials that enable accessible learning for people who are blind or low vision. This role is essential to ensuring production orders are completed accurately efficiently and in alignment with document specifications while maintaining close communication with supervisors and team members.
What Youll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Collate inspect assemble and sort braille and production materials.
- Operate various production equipment to reproduce braille books and materials.
- Make and assemble cases and package finished materials.
- Review production order requirements and document specifications.
- Maintain an active line of communication with supervisors regarding workflow and needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support production operations.
QualificationsWhat We Expect from You
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness and ability to learn braille numbers.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and finger movements.
- Ability to stoop bend grasp and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs. or more.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and willingness to learn additional software.
- Ability to work with detail meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Note: A combination of education training and experience may be considered when competency in the role is demonstrated.

Compensation & Hours
- New hire rate: $20.94/hour
- After 45 days worked: $21.94/hour
- Schedule:
- MondayThursday: 7:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m.
- Friday: 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. (every other Friday off)
- Union position Non-Exempt (FLSA)
- Climate-controlled production facility
