Your Valued Contributions:
As the first contact with the Health Center the Switchboard Operator provides a welcoming greeting to all callers. The tasks consist of but are not limited to the following: receiving calls on the Switchboard transferring callers to the proper destinations assisting patients as needed. Assists with clerical duties as required.
- Operates telephone and paging system.
- Answers incoming calls greeting the caller identifying yourself providing information transferring callers and/or taking messages as necessary and respond to inquiries aimed at clinic services and procedures.
- Transfer telephone calls to intended recipients after screening them properly.
- Must know which staff are in which department and who is in charge of what function.
- Operates paging system to relay in-house announcements or call individuals to the phone.
- Create and maintain logs of incoming calls as directed.
- Assists with routine clerical duties when volume of calls permit.
- Compile assemble proofread and prepare data for records and reports.
- Drafts emails; proofreads and edits letters memos and other documents; operates copying and duplicating machines.
- Enter variety of data using current technology; prepare and sort documents for data entry.
Required Training & Experience:
- Possesses a current State of Michigan drivers license and valid automobile insurance.
- Word & Excel
- Use of Electronic Health Records system
