An inclusive and forward-thinking primary school in Kensington Liverpool is seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and committed to making a positive impact on pupils learning emotional wellbeing and personal development.
You will be supporting pupils with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD SEMH speech and language difficulties and moderate learning difficulties. Support will be delivered on a 1:1 basis and through targeted small group interventions depending on individual needs outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
The role requires patience adaptability emotional intelligence and a genuine commitment to inclusive education. You will be a key part of the schools SEN provision working collaboratively with teaching staff the SENCO and external professionals to ensure pupils are fully supported throughout the school day.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Kensington your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 SEN support for pupils with additional needs
Delivering structured small group interventions
Supporting pupils to access the curriculum in a meaningful and inclusive way
Implementing strategies outlined in EHCPs IEPs and behaviour support plans
Supporting emotional regulation communication and social interaction
Using visual supports sensory resources and differentiated materials
Promoting positive behaviour and independence
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Supporting pupils during transitions playtimes and lunchtimes
Monitoring and recording pupil progress and behaviour
Providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to review meetings
Supporting personal care where required (training provided if needed)
Maintaining a safe calm and nurturing learning environment
Upholding safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
The school is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience supporting children with SEN in education or care settings
Demonstrates patience resilience and emotional intelligence
Has a good understanding of Autism ADHD SEMH and communication needs
Is confident supporting behaviour using positive strategies
Is flexible reliable and proactive
Has strong communication and teamwork skills
Is available for an ASAP start
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
Experience with EHCPs sensory integration speech and language interventions or SEMH strategies is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
