A large and well-established school in Ilford East London is seeking an experienced or aspiring SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across primary and secondary phases. Your responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant will include:

  • Implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies

  • Working closely with teachers to adapt learning materials

  • Supporting pupils during lessons transitions and unstructured times

  • Managing behaviour using positive reinforcement strategies

  • Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate records

  • Promoting independence confidence and resilience

  • Supporting personal care where necessary

  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEN or vulnerable individuals

  • Be calm patient and adaptable

  • Have strong behaviour management skills

  • Be a positive role model for pupils

  • Work well as part of a team

  • Be committed to inclusive education

This role is suitable for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants as well as graduates or individuals from care or support backgrounds looking to enter education.
