A welcoming inclusive and well-established school located in the Bow / Bethnal Green area of Tower Hamlets is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated support team on a full-time long-term basis. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning manage emotions and develop social and communication skills. Pupils present with a range of needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Social Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) speech and language difficulties sensory processing challenges and moderate learning difficulties. Many pupils are supported through Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) requiring consistent and targeted intervention.

Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this Tower Hamlets school your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 support for pupils with identified SEN needs
Supporting small group interventions focusing on academic progress emotional regulation and social skills
Working with pupils with ASD ADHD SEMH needs speech and language difficulties and learning disabilities
Supporting pupils to access lessons by adapting tasks and reinforcing learning objectives
Assisting pupils with emotional regulation anxiety management and behaviour support
Implementing strategies and targets outlined in EHCPs behaviour plans and individual learning plans
Working closely with class teachers to ensure appropriate differentiation
Supporting pupils during transitions playtimes and lunchtimes
Encouraging independence confidence and resilience
Monitoring and recording pupil progress and wellbeing
Communicating effectively with teachers SENCOs and senior leaders
Supporting personal care needs when required ensuring dignity and safeguarding
Maintaining a calm safe and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate

Experience working with SEN pupils or vulnerable individuals (schools care youth work or support roles)
Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
