You will work in an international non-governmental organisation with a legal base in the Netherlands dedicated to accountability for war crimes genocide and crimes against humanity.
The organisation supports victims of international crimes through strategic litigation legal advocacy institutional strengthening and organisational development working across jurisdictions to advance justice dignity and systemic change within international accountability mechanisms.

About the Board Member Role
We are seeking an experienced Statutory Director / Board Member with a strong financial background to join the Dutch board of the organisation.
In this role you will assume the formal legal fiduciary and financial oversight responsibilities under Dutch law for the Netherlands-based entity of an international NGO. You will work closely with the Group CFO provide governance oversight and support the organisations mission to combat impunity for international crimes.
This role is particularly suited for a seasoned professional who is motivated by human rights ethical governance and international justice and who wishes to contribute expertise at the board level to a mission-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Statutory Director under Dutch law carrying formal legal and fiduciary responsibility
Oversee financial governance compliance and regulatory obligations in the Netherlands
Ensure alignment with Dutch financial fiscal and NGO regulatory frameworks
Provide strategic financial oversight and risk management
Work in close collaboration with the Group CFO and international leadership
Lead and coordinate the local Dutch board
Support the organizations sustainable growth and institutional integrity
Candidate Profile
Dutch nationality (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of the Dutch legal financial and regulatory landscape
Proven financial expertise (e.g. CFO finance director audit risk advisory or similar)
Experience with or strong affinity for NGOs foundations or non-profit organisations
Prior experience as a statutory director or board member is highly desirable
High standards of integrity independence and accountability
Genuine commitment to human rights international justice and addressing war crimes
Time Commitment & Role Development
Initial commitment: quarterly board meetings
Scope and time investment may expand over time depending on profile fit and organisational needs
Remuneration
EUR 2000 per quarterly board meeting
Remuneration on a per-meeting basis
