Commodity Trader

A globally focused financial institution with active commodity trading operations is urgently seeking a Commodity Trader to join its growing Malta-based this role you will operate across multiple markets supporting a resilient cost-effective and sustainable supply chain.

This is an office-based role with flexible hours offering a salary of up to 50K plus commission and benefits.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement and trading strategies for urea melamine methanol and related chemicals

• Source and manage relationships with global suppliers producers and traders

• Monitor market trends geopolitical events and price movements to support trading decisions

• Negotiate long-term contracts and spot deals to balance cost risk and supply continuity

• Optimise shipping routes freight costs and inventory levels

• Manage risks related to pricing supply disruption and regulatory changes

• Ensure contracts protect the companys interests and supply security

Education Skills & Experience

• Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience

• 3 years experience in commodity trading procurement or chemical-related supply chain roles

• Fluency in English (C2/native level) written and spoken

• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing global supplier relationships

• Strong knowledge of international trade regulations contracts and compliance

• Sound commercial judgement with a results-driven mindset

• Experience preparing executive-level reports

• Strong communication skills
