Role description:

At Arcadis we are seeking an Environmental Consultant specialized in soil and groundwater remediation to join our Environment Department in Spain.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated Environmental Consultant looking to further develop their career within the worlds leading company in Design and Consultancy for natural and built assets joining a successful team with outstanding multinational clients. The selected candidate will have the ability and ambition to play a key role in the Arcadis Iberia team for Site Assessment and Remediation as well as Environmental Construction Services in Spain and Portugal.

Role accountabilities:

The Environmental Consultant will be involved in the full life cycle of subsurface environmental investigation and remediation projects. Responsibilities include:

• Fieldwork such as:

  • Installation operation and monitoring of remediation systems
  • Soil and groundwater sampling
  • Conducting treatability pilot tests
  • Supervision of drilling activities and installation of monitoring/remediation wells and
  • Other tasks related to work plans and Standard Operating Procedures for site investigation and remediation projects throughout Spain and Portugal.

• Office tasks such as:

  • Conceptual design of remediation approaches
  • Planning and coordination of fieldwork
  • Management of subcontractors (e.g. remediation contractors treatability laboratories etc.)
  • Management evaluation and interpretation of technical data
  • Reporting on investigation and remediation results.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Engineering (Chemical Mechanical) Geology or other environmental-related studies (Chemistry Geology Geological Engineering Mining Engineering etc.);
• 1 to 2 years of experience in soil and groundwater contamination projects;
• Specific qualifications in soil and groundwater remediation (preferably in situ treatments) will be highly valued;
• Strong commitment to project delivery;
• Valid drivers license;
• Language skills: Good level of English.
