Highcrest Elementary School is seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as our Long-Term Substitute Grade 1 Teacher to fill an opening. The position is vital to our school as the staff member has regular and influential interaction with students staff and parents/families. This role will be filled immediately.

Duration: June 16 2026 (end of the 2025-2026 school year)

** The chosen candidate will be employed by our temporary staffing partner Kelly Educational Staffing and will be assigned to fill this opening.

The substitute Grade 1 Teacher will be responsible for all common teacher responsibilities including but not limited to preparing and delivering lessons and ensuring students receive regular feedback and assessment.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelors Degree;
Appropriate CT Certification credentials are preferred but not required;
Background experience
Excellent oral communication interpersonal and relationship-building skills to interact with students staff and parents;
Ability to plan and organize work schedule and set priorities and work independently and with a sense of urgency;
Excellent classroom management skills with both small and large groups;
Ability to handle and treat information confidentially
