Job Summary

SALARY: up to $81000 - $84000 annually

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager position combines strategic planning with hands-on execution including developing and implementing marketing campaigns managing social media presence and designing promotional materials to enhance brand visibility and audience engagement. The Operations Manager serves as Manager on Duty during events ensuring exceptional patron experiences and smooth front-of-house operations. Additional responsibilities include coordinating sponsorships and partnerships managing advertising contracts and supporting administrative functions to maintain operational excellence. This position requires strong leadership creativity and the ability to collaborate across departments to advance the mission and growth of the Morris Performing Arts Center.

SCHEDULE: 8:00am 5:00pm and other hours as assigned per show/event schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Marketing Strategy & Brand Alignment
    • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies for the Morris Performing Arts Center and Morris Complex. Ensure all campaigns messaging and creative assets align with South Bend Venues Parks and Arts branding standards and organizational goals.
    • Partner with the Directors of Booking & Events and Ticketing & Strategy to design and implement innovative data-driven marketing and promotional strategies for theatre rentals co-promoted productions and self-promoted shows at the Morris Performing Arts Center with the goal of maximizing audience engagement and attendance
  • Creative Design & Collateral Management
    • Design and produce a wide range of marketing materials for shows and events occurring at the Morris Performing Arts Center; including posters (interior and exterior) flyers programs signage and digital graphics using Photoshop InDesign and/or other design tools.
    • Manage vendor quotes purchase orders and coordinate distribution of all printed and digital collateral.
  • Digital & Social Media Management
    • Serve as administrator for the Morris Facebook page creating and scheduling engaging content posting event updates and responding to patron inquiries. Capture and edit event photography for use across social media platforms to enhance audience engagement and brand visibility.
  • Event Oversight & Patron Relations
    • Act as Manager on Duty during scheduled events ensuring smooth front-of-house operations. Address patron and promoter concerns coordinate with security and resolve operational issues related to lobby monitors marquee sound and staff performance.
  • Venue Engagement & Partnerships
    • Collaborate with the Morris Administrative Assistant to conduct venue tours and host photo/video shoots for commercial and non-commercial purposes. Develop sponsorship and partnership packages to attract and maintain strategic relationships that support venue growth.
  • Audience Development & Growth
    • Lead initiatives to expand the Morris audience base focusing on attracting regional and out-of-town visitors. Implement targeted marketing campaigns including SMS strategies for text subscribers to increase engagement and ticket sales.
  • Advertising & Contract Management
    • Negotiate and oversee marketing and advertising contracts ensuring compliance with budget and performance standards. Monitor effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies to maximize ROI.

NON-ESSENTIAL/MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as assigned.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS:

A college degree in Communications Administration or Business is preferred. Quality training and a history of outstanding experience may substitute for a college degree.

Three to five years of marketing or administrative experience in an increasingly responsible position.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop Illustrator InDesign).

Strong copywriting and content creation skills for print and digital media.

Social media management and analytics (Facebook Instagram etc.).

Photography and photo editing for promotional use.

Performing arts industry trends and audience demographics.

Knowledge of Microsoft Suites

Working knowledge of City or County government is a plus.

CERTIFICATES LICENSE REGISTRATION:

Valid Drivers license required.

Work is performed in office settings with moderate temperatures inside. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate and noise levels may increase depending on activities or events in the facility.
