LPN Health Services Assistant

South Shore Technical High School in Hanover MA seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as a part time Health Services Assistant in support of our School Nurse. This is a temporary non-union hourly position for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year currently scheduled to end on June 12 2026. Qualifications:Licensed Practical Nurse with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Registration in CPR/AED and First Aid certification through AHA or Red Cross (online trainings without skills sign-off not recognized).Two or more years of relevant experience in pediatrics or community health organization prioritization and communication proficiency and excellent computer to maintain strict to work with high school age students. Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM on days when school is in session. Compensation: $32.85 / hour Position Purpose: Provide nursing care to students and staff under the direction of the School Nurse Educator and Administration. Documents health related activities and treatments on the computer based health record program as the school nurse in the smooth and efficient operation of the school health service to realize the maximum positive impact of that service on the educational environment. Helps maintain the health clinic under the direction of the School nurse with triage of students and communicates concerns to the School parents/guardians of ill or injured students as directed by School with the School Nurse to manage the accurate and confidential status of students health records yearly physicals and immunization with all state regulated yearly medical duties as assigned under the direction of the School Nurse or with District policies and procedures and state laws relative to the administration of medication and medical treatments to professional standards the Massachusetts Nursing Practice Act that is applicable to the school nursing practice and adheres to School District policies and tasks include but are not limited to performing ordered treatments caring for illness critical decision-making in emergency situations maintaining confidentiality and documenting in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and the policies and procedures of the School District.
