The County of Elgin is looking for students who have successfully completed their first year of a Nursing program to work as a Personal Support Worker over the summer at Terrace Lodge!Terrace Lodge is a 100-bed long-term care home in the Township of Malahide. Our home is situated in beautiful Elgin County and features private and semi-private accommodation with 24-hour nursing care. Outdoor areas to relax with family as well as living and dining areas are available for resident enjoyment. Your responsibilities include: Providing personal care such as bathing dressing and transfersAssisting with meals and nutrition supportTidying resident rooms and common areasPerforming minor treatments and reporting health observationsResponding to call bells with attentiveness and empathyParticipating in care planning through daily reportsSupporting inclusive respectful and equitable care deliveryAdditional duties as assignedQualifications:Must have successfully completed 1st year of a Nursing program from a recognized post-secondary have completed school placements in a long-term care home hospital or community setting. Must provide proof of returning to full-time post-secondary school in Fall in Geriatrics or equivalent.
