As Senior Avionics Manufacturing Engineer (Helios vehicle) you will work across disciplines to deliver a suite of avionics for our Helios vehicle. Helios is the kick stage transforming access to MEO GEO Cislunar and beyond. Paired with a medium-lift launch vehicle Helios provides same day delivery for large payloads from LEO to high-energy orbits delivering heavy-lift performance at medium-lift costs.
Leveling will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Own Helios avionics as a product in the manufacturing organization. Serve as primary point of contact for both flight hardware and ground support equipment.
- Worked with Helios program management to define schedules and deliverables.
- Own mechanical assembly of Helios avionics system by working with subject matter experts on the avionics manufacturing team (PCBAs RF optics harnessing batteries).
- Design the manufacturing process and write manufacturing procedures for mechanical assembly of the overall avionics syst guide technicians building avionics hardware.
- Collaborate with design engineers on DFM of Helios avionics.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams on quality and long-term reliability.
- Ensure the timely delivery of avionics components to Integration.
- Provide day-to-day support for the production floor resolving build issues updating work instructions and improving yields.
- Support environmental and functional testing in production.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5 years of demonstrated development or manufacturing experience with mechanical aspects of electronic and/or optical assemblies.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver technically complex projects
- Highly proficient in mechanical design using Siemens NX
- Strong project management skills
Preferred Skills and Experience
- M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
- 6 years of experience in spacecraft avionics manufacturing.
- Experience with setting up and scaling manufacturing lines involving complex mechanical assemblies.
