The Lead Crankshaft Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end design development and validation of crankshafts for high-performance or high-volume engine programs. Lead the technical direction for the crankshaft subsystem ensuring it meets all requirements for durability NVH (Noise Vibration and Harshness) weight and cost. He will act as the bridge between the design team manufacturing plants and external suppliers.
1. Responsible for procurement design runoff delivery and launch of new/re-tooled equipment to support New Programs.
2. Deploy standard engineering methods in the development and delivery of Crankshaft machining processes and systems.
3. Request and ensure on time delivery of all (Original Equipment Manufacturer) OEM documentation Liaise with New Model Launch on program delivery.
4. Ensure weekly New Model program safety walks are conducted from the beginning of facility activities thru the commissioning of all new model process and process support equipment. (Safety walks can be led by the Delivery Program Leader or a site-based delegate).
5. Lead the quality processes (Reconciliation Matrix/Control Plan SCCAF Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA) Error Proofing).
6. Lead cross functional team encompassing; Collaboration & Innovation Digital Engineering & Layout Simulation & Process Optimisation Quality & Business Processes and Industrial Engineering
7. Lead the FMA process for new crankshaft line programs.
and maintain Bill of Process elements for all machining methods and equipment specifications.
and deliver ESWP enquiry specification/bid packages SPA recaps and issue Purchase Requisitions for process related equipment.
Investment Efficiency process with PD & OEMs.
11. Lead site-based engineers throughout the delivery of equipment to production readiness.
1. Bachelors degree in mechanical manufacturing ( Ideally involving in Crankshaft machining proces )
2. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
3. Proven experience (10 years) in Crankshaft machining line.
4. Strong problem-solving communication collaboration and project management skills are essential for working in cross-functional teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
