Protecting identity is critical to how we keep our people customers and systems safe. As a Senior Cyber & Identity Engineer at Air New Zealand youll play a key role in shaping secure scalable and automated identity solutions that support our future-fit digital airline.
This role sits within the Cyber Security Identity Chapter and youll act as a subject matter expert working closely with engineers architects product teams and vendors to evolve our identity ecosystem and deliver next-generation identity lifecycle management.
About the role:
- Lead the engineering and operation of enterprise identity services within a Microsoft identity ecosystem including Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory (AAD).
- Design build and evolve identity lifecycle and access management solutions with a strong focus on automation security and resilience.
- Own complex integrations across upstream and downstream systems such as ServiceNow Workday and SailPoint.
- Provide technical leadership across code management CI/CD pipelines containerisation and multi-environment deployments.
- Drive problem management root cause analysis and continuous improvement of identity services.
- Act as an escalation point contributing to on call support and guiding operational excellence.
What were looking for:
- Extensive experience engineering and supporting enterprise identity platforms in large complex environments.
- Experience in enterprise Role Based Access Control and Privileged Access Management.
- Development capability ideally in languages such as Java or Python with experience designing production-grade solutions.
- Deep hands-on experience with AD and AAD in enterprise scale environments.
- Experience with Cloud based infrastructure and services such as IaaS ECS/EKS/RDS.
- Proven experience working across multi-vendor IAM ecosystems and modern DevOps toolchains.
- Confidence influencing technical direction making sound judgement calls and mentoring other engineers.
- Comfort working with ambiguity balancing risk delivery and long-term platform health.
