The Computer Science Faculty at NHCC are at the forefront of excellence in computer science education. At NHCC our faculty and students work with the latest technology and software applications to gain hands experience in computer programming software development and database programming. Responsibilities:
Primary teaching responsibilities include teaching Computer Science courses including computer programming software development and database programming.
Revision and development of instructional materials as well as assessment of student outcomes is assumed.
Participation in discipline division and college matters through service on committees and attendance at regular meetings as well as continued professional development.
Dedication to excellence in teaching and the desire to become part of a creative vibrant student-centered learning community.
Practice contemporary teaching strategies including learner outcome assessments and online instruction.
Teach classes on-campus and during daytime hours in the evenings on weekends and online.
Continue the professionalism of an active scholar participate in departmental and campus-wide matters to enhance their disciplines promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration and advance the college mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree with a major in Computer Science or
Masters degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in Computer Science
Preferred Qualifications:
Three to five years of industry experience as hands-on software developer utilizing major integrated software development environments.
Two years of demonstrated recent experience teaching computer science courses including software and database development and Web programming at a community college level.
Working knowledge of the current versions of programming languages Python Java C# C an assembly language and technology.
Working knowledge of multiple operating system environments including Windows and Linux.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to educate adult learners students of color students with disabilities and international students.
Working knowledge of contemporary online education delivery platforms including configuration tools.

Salary Range:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the bargaining unit agreement. Entry-level range is $51303 - $94542 for a nine-month academic year plus excellent benefits.
Full-time unlimited faculty work 171 days during a nine-month academic year and receive excellent benefits including health insurance (95% employer paid single premium or 90% employer paid family premium); life insurance; optional dental short-and long-term disability and long-term care insurance; paid personal and sick leave; defined benefits and defined contribution (401(a) retirement plans); tuition waiver for employees and dependents; and optional 457 and 403(b) retirement savings plans.
Under the collective bargaining agreement with the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) new faculty to the system receive a salary placement based on education and related experience after accepting a job offer.
